The Escape Collection encompasses an assortment of villa offerings, set on the waters of the Mirage Lagoon, overlooking the Mirage Golf Course.
This development was constructed over 4 stages, with completion of the final stage in 2024. Each villa has been desgined to harmonise with its surroundings and no two villas in the development are identical. Villas range from 3, 4 to 5 bedroom arrangements, each with a private pool.
The development is designed for tropical living, with a natural palette as a backdrop to the vibrance of its surroundings.
The villas are luxe and low maintenance, with amenities and fitout exemplifying a modern take on the iconic Port Douglas character.
“It’s all about exceptional design suited to the tropics, luxuriant landscaping that blends structure into nature, and location” John Morris; client, resident & developer since 1974

The facilities include a new Covered Outdoor Area, Tuckshop and Amenities, which were constructed to replace a much smaller covered area in the centre of an established area of the campus. The new covered outdoor area provides shade, shelter, and connection for play courts and a new tuckshop. Detailed landscaped areas connect the facility to classrooms and pathways on all sides, creating purposeful and incidental spaces for circulation, play and gathering.

ZAP Creative were engaged to provide design and documentation services for a new purpose built ELC facility to provide a space for the school’s registered Queensland Kindergarden Program.
Trinity Anglican School’s Kewarra Beach Campus is surrounded by natural beauty and this is key to the ecosystem and learning experience of students on the campus. The proposal for the ELC involved working with the school’s master plan to resolve an optimal position for the school and user groups considering existing buildings and access. The design prioritised retaining as many significant trees as possible on the site with the new classrooms opening straight onto a new dedicated nature playground established underneath the canopy.
The project was delivered over a compressed timeframe to meet the client’s critical objective of opening the facility for the beginning of the 2022 school year.

The Covered Outdoor Learning Area was a project undertaken for the Kewarra Beach Campus of Trinity Anglican School, in conjunction with WIP Constructions.
The structure provides an efficient solution to shelter the existing basketball courts and create a multi-purpose space that is useable in all weather, with a nod to the school’s iconic Akubra hats.

This executive residence is designed to capture ocean views from the top floor, occupied by a master bedroom suite and living, dining and kitchen spaces. On the ground floor, 4 bedrooms and another living space lead out to a generous patio and pool.
Light weight construction and the implementation of natural materials throughout work with the naturally sloping site and will complement significant landscaping to screen and soften views from inside and out of the residence.

Comboyne residence is a new four bedroom family home, located in Northern NSW. A stretched out bedroom wing maximises natural ventilation and daylight on the site and leads to the heart of the house; the raised living area. A vaulted ceiling and high level glazing allow penetration of sunlight to warm the space in the cooler months. In summer, the decks shade the space and sliding doors on both sides can be opened for natural air flow through the space.
Material selections were made to withstand the demands of a growing family, whilst maintaining a moderate construction budget.
